It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dann Siems, who passed away on February 4, 2011. Dann co-wrote the Charles Darwin, the Copley Medal, and the Rise of Naturalism game, contributing much needed expertise in Biology and Evolution. He loved intellectual engagement and particularly appreciated that aspect of “Reacting to the Past”. Indeed, he was pondering a new science game only a few weeks before his death. He was truly inspired by the pedagogy and the people involved in it.
Dann’s enthusiasm for Biology, teaching, and the life of the mind combined with his love of fishing, building things, and good music marked him as a true renaissance man. He will be missed by many, many friends, colleagues, and students.
