The University of Texas at Austin named "Future Forward" institution for its RTTP program

The University of Texas at Austin, a member of the Reacting Consortium, was recently designated as a "Future Forward" institution for its robust RTTP program. Jeffrey J. Selingo, author of College (Un)bound and editor at large at The Chronicle of Higher Education, has selected a handful of institutions from around the United States that demonstrated a forward-thinking approach to their degree programs. "The list of schools here is not intended to be a ranking," he writes. "These are just a sampling of colleges that have adopted strategies and programs that will help prove the value of their degree in the years ahead." Mr. Selingo praises RTTP as "a game that is so powerful it can also push beer pong competitions aside and make students forget to download the World of Warcraft." Professor Larry Carver, director of the Liberal Arts Honors program at UT Austin, is a veteran RTTP advocate who brought the curriculum to Texas nearly a decade ago.
